Configuring Profile Creation Rules to Automatically Create Missing Profiles
Profile creation rules are run when a new profile is automatically created for balances with missing profiles. Use the Profile Creation Rules tab to define rules that automate the assignment of attributes when creating these new profiles.
Loading balances that are mapped to a target profile but don't have a matching profile results in missing profile exceptions. In such cases, if Create Missing Profiles is selected in the balance load definition, after a balance load completes, a new profile is automatically created for balances that have a target profile assigned but don’t have matching profiles with that account ID. Ideally, all of the profile properties are set using the Set Attribute rules defined in the Profile Creation Rules tab of the Balance Loads card. For example, you can use the rules to hard code the Rate Type and Process values, set the Name of the profile from a balance attribute, set the Organizational Unit using a calculated attribute, and set the Risk Rating, Preparer, and Frequency using predicted attributes. Therefore, using all the various rules options, you can automatically set all attributes that are needed to automatically complete the profile setup.
Global rules and format rules are also run as pert of the profile creation process. Before the rules are run, predictions are automatically run for any predicted attributes that are part of these rules.
The order in which the rules that set profile properties are run is as follows:
- Profile creation rules
- Global rules
- Format rules
Steps to Define Profile Creation Rules
- From the Home page, select Applications and then Balance Loads.
- Select the Profile Creation Rules tab and click New.
- In the Properties tab, enter a Name and optional Description. Select Enabled if you want this rule to be run when new profiles are created.
- In the Filter tab, select one of the following options to determine the
newly created profiles for which the rules should be run:
- Create Filter – creates a new filter that will be used with this rule only.
- Use Saved Filter – use an existing saved filter
- No Filter – set attribute rules are run for all newly created profiles
- In the Attributes tab, click New to create the required rules. You
can only use the rule type Set Attribute Value for profile creation rules.
See Assigning Attribute Values Using Global Rules in Setting Up and Configuring Account Reconciliation for details.
Note:
These Profile Creation Rules are run when a profile is created automatically during the balance load or when the Create Profile option is used on the Mapping Exceptions tab.
