Frequently Asked Questions for Loading Data from Oracle Enterprise Performance Management

Here are answers to common questions asked by administrators of Fusion Data Intelligence EPM Integrators.

Can I change my data extract after it has been set up?

Yes, you can edit and republish data extract.

Can I see the extract status?

Yes, you can view the data extract status in the EPM and Fusion Data Intelligence systems.

What if I don’t see updated members (like new cost centers)?

Request a metadata refresh.

What should I avoid?

Avoid using All Data unless absolutely required; it can negatively impact performance.

Why am I not seeing data in target tables in Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse?

  • Identify the scenario, version, years, and period in the source application with the expected subset of the data.
  • Verify the filters on the dimensions.
  • Apply filters on all the dimensions.

How do I change the log levels in EPM data exchange?

The default logging in the EPM Development Environment is Log 4. In some cases, to debug the issues, we need to change the log level to Log 5. Perform these steps to change the logging:
  1. Log in to EPM
  2. Navigate to Data Exchange.
  3. Click on Action, then System Settings.

How do I update credentials for the EPM application in the connection?

  1. In Fusion Data Intelligence console, navigate to Data Configuration, then select Manage Connections, and then click Edit Connection.
  2. Update the username and/or password.
  3. Disable Initialize Connection and Refresh Metadata.

When you've completed the steps, test the connection and monitor the request history for activity.

Why am I getting an error while publishing data extract job with Incremental period selected?

  • Error: Failed to save datastore.
  • Error Details: Incremental extract requires at least one Period filter value to be selected from the valid dimension
  • Data extract jobs with Number of Period = “No Incremental” works well but the extract job fails if I select any value (0 – 12).
  • The Global Period Mapping in EPM Data Exchange needs review.
  • Confirm the first entry in the Global Period Mapping has the Year and Period values (e.g. Target Year = FY20, Target Period – Month = Jan)
How to Solve It?
  • If the first entry is not a Year and Period value (e.g. “No Year” and “BegBalance”)
  • Create an entry for a Year and Period that is prior to the initial date within the EPM application. This will ensure there is no impact on the other integrations in the EPM Data Exchange.
  • Example entry: Target Year = FY01, Target Period – Month = Jan
  • In Fusion Data Intelligence, refresh metadata and retry publishing the incremental data extract job.

Why am I not seeing dimension tables in bulk data augmentation?

Clear the browser cache or use private/incognito browser session for bulk data augmentation.
