How You Place Reports on Dashboards

Reports are the most likely items you add to dashboards. You can place reports on dashboards using drag and drop from the reports explorer.

There are some points to keep in mind before you add reports to the dashboard:

  • Adding Private reports to a dashboard – The staff members who do not have permission to view individual reports can view them on the dashboard, if they have permission to open the dashboard. This may result in staff members viewing information they should not have access.

  • Deleting a report used on a dashboard – The deleted report is automatically removed from the dashboard and a placeholder is displayed when you view or edit a dashboard.

  • Using a report multiple times with different default filter values to show different data – You must create a copy of the report and add it to the dashboard along with the original, since only one set of filter values can be stored for each unique report on a dashboard.
