Edit a File

The File Manager lets you edit files on the hosting server.

1. From the File Manager, click the name of the file you want to edit or click the View/Edit icon to the left of the file.
2. Edit the file as necessary.
3. Enter a brief comment in the Comment field to help you track the editing history. For information about viewing comments, see Log File Management.
4. Click Save.

Results:

A backup copy of the current file is saved in the backup directory and the current file is overwritten with the modified file. Because saving a file impacts the backup copy of the file, you will receive a warning if you attempt to save the file without making any changes.
