Job logs

Use the job log to review metrics during individual job runs and also to review records that were unsuccessfully imported during ingest jobs.

Viewing job logs

You can review job logs from the Jobs dashboard.

To view job logs:

  1. Click the Oracle icon Image of the application navigation button. Use it to access the different parts of Oracle Unity. in the bottom-right corner to open the navigation menu.
  2. Select Jobs.
  3. Click the Action menu (An image of the action menu button. Use it to edit custom data objects.) for the job you want to review.
  4. Select View log.

Clicking individual job names will also display the jobs logs.

Reviewing job logs

Job logs provide a summary of the data that was processed during the job and a timestamp of when the job ran. Job logs for ingest jobs and publish jobs provide additional information.

Notes:
  • If you are reviewing metrics for ingest jobs that ran before the release of Oracle Unity version 21A.1, the following metrics will not be available: Files with errors and Failed records.
  • Ingest jobs that use CX Sales or Eloqua sources will not be able to display all metrics and fully functional Job logs.

Logs for ingest jobs display the following information.

Callout number one Files processed and Failed records:

  • Click Files processed in current run to view file details for the job.
  • Click Files processed in a previous run to review files that were processed in previous ingest job runs.
  • Click Failed records in current run to review any errors during the job. This tab is only visible if there were errors. Learn more about Reviewing failed records for ingest jobs.

Callout number two Ingest job metrics: Review the metrics for the job.

  • Files read: The total number of files that were read during the ingest job.
  • Files with errors: The total number of files that generated errors during the ingest job.
  • Rows read: The total number of rows read in the files during the ingest job.
  • Added/updated records: The total number of records that were added or updated in the data model during the ingest job.
  • Failed records: The total number of records that were not successfully added or updated.  

Callout number three File details: Review the metrics for each file processed during the ingest job.

  • File: The filename, folder path, and size of the file.
  • Rows read: The number of rows read for the file.
  • Data objects populated: The data objects configured in the field mapping for the ingest job that apply to the file.
  • Added/updated records: The number of records that were added or updated for the file.
  • Failed records: The number of records that were not successfully added or updated for the file.  

Job logs for publish jobs

Logs for publish jobs display the following information.

Callout number one The number of jobs that were published.

Callout number two The name and type of each job published.

Callout number three The type of operation performed for the job: added, modified, or deleted.

Reviewing failed records for ingest jobs

If there were records that were unsuccessfully imported during an ingest job, then you can review them in the job log. Once you review the failed records, you can make the necessary changes to the configuration of the Source and Ingest job so that they can be successfully imported the next time the job runs.

To view failed records for an ingest job:

  1. Open the job details for the ingest job that shows a Failed status.

  3. Review the number of errors for the job and click View.
  4. An imgae of the View details link
