Setting up the export of data to Snowflake
To export Oracle Unity segments or data objects to Snowflake, you will need to create the destination and accompanying campaign job or export job that will export the data.
Before you begin
Make sure you have the following parameters before setting up the data connection.
-
SFTP server name: The hostname for the SFTP server, formatted as username@sftpserverhostname.com.
-
Authentication key: Prepare a text file that has the authentication key to access the SFTP server.
-
Oracle Unity only supports private authentication keys in RSA format. You can't upload a public authentication keys.
-
To create an RSA authentication key, learn how to Generate SSH Keys in PEM Format to Connect to a Public or On-Premises sFTP Server from the Using the FTP Adapter with Oracle Integration Help Center.
-
-
Folder name: The path name to the folder on the SFTP server that has the files to export.
-
Encryption key: If the exported file has a PGP compression format, prepare a file with the key to encrypt the file.
Step 1: Create the Secure FTP destination
After collecting the information above, follow the steps for creating an Secure FTP destination. The destination provides all the details for exporting the data.
Step 2: Create the campaign job or export job
Once the destination is created and published, you can set up the job to export the data. You have the option of exporting data objects and segments from Oracle Unity.
-
To export data objects, follow the steps for creating an export job.
-
To export segments, follow the steps for creating a campaign job.
Step 3: Run the campaign job or export job
-
Run the export job from the Data feeds page.
-
Run the campaign job from the Campaigns page.
Monitor the status of the export job or campaign job from the Jobs dashboard.
Step 4: Import data into Snowflake
After the data is successfully exported, you can then import the data into Snowflake. Learn how to Load Data into Snowflake from the Snowflake documentation.
