Inspecting Data Chains

Many Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Data Management screens have a Data Chain tab. You can use this tab to inspect the data objects on a data chain. For more information about data chains, see Understanding Data Chains.

Tip:

The Data Chain tab displays information about an individual data chain object. Use the Data Chain report to view data chain information on all data chain objects. See Data Chain Report.

The following example shows that a node type is used in the data chains of a hierarchy set, two node sets, and a viewpoint.

The Data Chain tab shows the relationship between a node type and the hierarchy sets, node sets, and viewpoints that use it.

You can inspect and access objects on the data chain by clicking the applicable icon. Clicking on an icon display links to data objects. If you want to inspect one of the objects, click the link and a new tab displays on the bottom of the screen.

In the following example, the user has clicked the Node Sets icon. Links to the definitions of both node sets that use the node type are displayed.

Clicking the Node Sets icon displays links to the node sets in the node type's data chain.

Click Download Data Chain Report download button to download a report of the data chains filtered to the object being inspected to an Excel file.

The downloaded report contains a Summary tab with filter settings for the report and a Data Chain tab with data chain information from the report.

Note:

The downloaded report is filtered to the object that you are inspecting, not the specific data chain group that you have selected on the screen. For example, clicking the Hierarchy Sets group and then downloading the report will include all of the node types, hierarchy sets, node sets, and viewpoints for the object that you are inspecting, not just the hierarchy sets.
