Capacity Scaling
Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management and Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Data Management provide multiple capabilities to scale capacity as application size and usage grow.
Independently Scalable Environments
Once entitled, customers can create multiple environments and deploy business process instances within each one. Every environment has its own allocated capacity and scales independently, ensuring that the performance and scalability of one environment do not impact others.
Compute Elasticity Provided by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
Cloud EPM and Cloud EDM run on OCI burstable compute instances that deliver flexible, scalable processing power. When CPU usage rises, these instances automatically burst to provide additional compute capacity, helping workloads run smoothly during peak usage.
In addition, as OCI releases newer and more powerful compute shapes, Oracle regularly refreshes the Cloud EPM and Cloud EDM infrastructure to use the latest shapes. This ongoing modernization improves performance, increases scalability, and helps ensure customers benefit from the newest underlying hardware and platform capabilities over time.
Automatic Memory Scaling
If an environment runs out of memory, it automatically recovers and sends an alert. Additional memory is then provisioned during the next daily maintenance cycle, helping ensure the environment has sufficient memory for stable and reliable operation.Database Elasticity
Cloud EPM and Cloud EDM leverage Oracle Autonomous Database Auto Scaling to automatically increase database compute and storage as workload requirements grow.
Proactive Monitoring of Resource Utilization Anomalies
Oracle continuously monitors resource utilization to detect anomalies, such as unexpected spikes in consumption. When anomalies are identified, Oracle performs a root cause analysis and takes corrective actions such as increasing resources, addressing software issues, and notifying customers of application-related concerns.
Proactive Notification of Application Design Issues
Application performance in Cloud EPM and Cloud EDM is highly dependent on application design. In addition to the design reviews provided through the Implementation Success Program, Oracle proactively analyzes issues and notifies Service Administrators if application design anomalies are identified. Notifications include guidance on corrective actions, which should be addressed promptly to avoid future performance or availability issues.
Customer Visibility into Capacity Utilization
Cloud EPM and Cloud EDM generate Activity Reports on a daily basis. They can also be generated on-demand by submitting a Provide Feedback request. Customers can use the Activity Report to monitor environment resource utilization, proactively identify performance bottlenecks, and take corrective action. The report can also be used as evidence of ongoing resource monitoring for compliance purposes. For details, see:
