Book Prompt Examples
The following is an example of using reports with prompts within a book, from a book designer and preview standpoint.
The book contains three reports with prompts. For simplicity purposes, there aren’t any POV selections exposed for any of the reports.

The three reports’ prompts are defined as follows:
Sample Report 14a (Prompt report1)

Sample Report 14b (Prompt report2)

Sample Report 5 (Prompts )

Note the following about the prompts across all three reports:
-
The "Select a month" prompt is the same in Sample Report 14a and Sample Report 14b.
-
The "Select one or more Segments" prompt is the same in Sample Report 14a and Sample Report 5 (Prompts).
-
In Sample Report 5 (Prompts), the "Choose a reporting region" prompt has Prompt For Value On Preview disabled, which means that the prompt’s default selection (E01 and E02) will be used when running the book. The user previewing the book will not respond to the prompt.
-
All of the other prompts have Prompt For Value On Preview disabled, which means that the user previewing the report will need to respond to the prompt.
-
The following prompts are specific to a single report and do not appear across multiple reports: Sample Report 14b "Select an Entity" and Sample Report 5 (Prompts) "Select a Quarter".
When previewing the book and responding to prompts, note that in Compact mode, four prompts are listed.
The first two are common across multiple reports, and the last two are specific to single reports.

In Full mode, all the prompts are listed individually:
