1 Discovering AI Capabilities in Cloud EPM and Cloud EDM

This guide summarizes the AI features supported across Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Enterprise Cloud Service and Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud Service.

Refer to this guide when answering questions about AI features and capabilities, including what AI features are available to all Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Enterprise Cloud Service and Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud Service customers and which features require AI Agent Studio for Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.

Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM has delivered AI capabilities in production since 2015, beginning with predictive capabilities such as Monte Carlo Simulations and expanding across Predictive Planning, Auto Predict, IPM Insights, GenAI narratives, and AI Assistants. This evolution reflects Oracle’s mature approach to AI for Finance: practical intelligence embedded in EPM workflows, grounded in trusted enterprise data, and designed to help teams plan, forecast, analyze, report, and act with confidence.

You can access AI features in Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management and Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Data Management in the following ways:

  • IPM and Predictive AI: Uses statistical ML models to identify patterns in training data and make predictions on new data. IPM and Predictive AI do not require Fusion AI Studio. They are embedded into EPM business processes and are normally used by administrators and end users through EPM configuration, forms, dashboards, jobs, and end-user interface experiences.

  • EPM GenAI: Uses large language models (LLMs) and multimodal AI models to generate text and media content based on input instructions and context data. Oracle exposes GenAI capabilities directly in EPM or EDM user interfaces.

  • EPM Assistants Using Fusion Agent Studio: Downloadable templates that help you create AI agents in Fusion Agent Studio for Cloud EPM or Cloud EDM.

  • EPM AI Using SmartView: Microsoft Office/Excel interaction through Oracle Smart View for Office and Smart View extensions.

  • Published REST APIs Through External AI Tools: Customer-built integrations where external AI tools or agent platforms call Oracle-published EPM REST APIs.

Note:

Beginning in July 2026, Oracle provides Generative AI functionality only for environments running the April (26.04) or later update. Environments that are not upgraded to 26.04 or later update by the end of July 2026 will lose access to Generative AI features.

Note:

The GenAI feature is not yet available in all OCI regions. To view the regions where AI is available, refer to Availability of Generative AI in the Operations Guide.
