Using Advanced Predictions in Smart View
Use Advanced Predictions in Oracle Smart View for Office to view prediction data in forms and improve forecasting by learning the explanation of the generated predictions.
Data source types: Planning, FreeForm
Advanced Predictions are an extension of Auto Predict, expanding the power of the prediction engine by using machine learning backed by OCI Data Science Cloud. Advanced Predictions provide multivariate predictions, looking at multiple input drivers to make the prediction. For example, to predict future sales volume, you can analyze several drivers or variables that correlate with your target variable, such as industry volumes, average sales price, advertising and promotions, GDP rate, and so on. The algorithms take the historical data for that variable and the drivers you included, as well as their what-if projections, to create a more accurate prediction. This way, Advanced Predictions help you make more informed decisions.
With Advanced Predictions, you can predict using any of the following algorithms or use Oracle AutoMLx, which runs all of these algorithms and selects the best option with the best results for you:
- Light GBM
- XGBoost
- Prophet
- SARIMAX
Service Administrators configure Advanced Predictions using the IPM Configuration wizard in the web application of your business process. See:
- Planning: Setting Up Advanced Predictions in Planning in Administering Planning
- FreeForm: Setting Up Advanced Predictions in FreeForm in Administering FreeForm
Enabling Advanced Predictions
To generate and work with Advanced Predictions, Service Administrators must first enable them in the application settings for your business process.
To enable Advanced Predictions:
- In the web application of your business process, click Application, and then click Settings.
- In the Enable AI section, select the Advanced Predictions check box to enable AI data analysis for advanced multivariate predictions.
Considerations while using Advanced Predictions
Consider the following points while using Advanced Predictions:
- Advanced Predictions are available only in forms in Smart View. It is not available in ad hoc grids.
- For a selected data cell, if there is no prediction analysis available, then on selecting Explain Prediction for that cell, an error message informs you that explainability is not available for this slice.
