About Dimensions and Members in Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management

Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management applications contain dimensions that represent the categories of data in your organization. For example, you identify time periods, such as YearTotal, Q1, or Jan, in the Period dimension. You identify budgeted items, such as SG&A for expenses, in the Account dimension, and you identify departments for your organization in the Entity dimension.

Members are components of dimensions. You add dimensions and members based on your organizational requirements.

Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management consists of the following dimensions:

  • Years, Period, Scenario, and Version POV dimensions (required)

  • Entity and Account dimensions (required)

  • Balance and Rule system dimensions (required)

  • Up to 10 custom dimensions

  • Up to 40 attribute dimensions

Note:

If you selected the Multicurrency option when you created your application, a Currency dimension is created. See Setting Up Currencies.

Note:

The Entity and Account dimensions, along with any custom dimensions are referred to as Business Dimensions.
