Using Ad Hoc to Analyze Allocation Rule Data
You can create an ad hoc grid to analyze a preconfigured data slice targeted for a specific rule's data elements.
To perform ad hoc analysis for a specific allocation rule:
-
From the Home page, select Modeling, and then Designer.
-
From the Waterfall Setup tab, select an allocation rule.
-
From the Actions menu, select View Rule Data, and then select an option to define what data element to include. For allocation rules, you can perform ad hoc analysis on these elements:
-
Source
-
Destination
-
Driver Basis (only available of you specifyed a driver location when you defined the rule)
-
Offset (only available if you specified an alternate location for the offset when you defined the rule)
-
-
The ad hoc grid opens in a new tab. See Using Ad Hoc for Data Entry and Analysis for details on how to work in the grid.
The following is an ad hoc grid displaying the destination data elements for the Rent and Utilities Reassignment allocation rule in the BKSML50 sample application that is provided with Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management. (See Creating the Sample Application for information on how to access the sample application.)

Note:
Before performing ad hoc analysis, the rule must be calculated and a POV defined. The current POV selected on the Rule Balancing page is the POV that is used to show the allocation rule data. See Calculating Models and Viewing Rule Balancing Reports.
