Complete and Not-Done Segments

You can mark the activity status of a segment as Complete or Not done based on these scenarios:

Case 1: Managing a Segmentable Activity for a Mobile Worker Resource Type

Scenario: A Segmentable activity is created for a mobile worker resource type and deselect the Segmentable activity is finished checkbox during Complete/Not Done operation.

Steps:

  1. Add the Segmentable Activity: Assign the Segmentable activity to a mobile worker (as scheduled or non-scheduled).
  2. Prepare the Segments: If non-scheduled, drag-and-drop the activity to a scheduled date to organize segments.
  3. Activate the Route: Activate the mobile worker route with the assigned segments.
  4. Start a Segment: Start any segment of the activity.
  5. Complete/Not Done Operation: Select the current segment as Complete/Not Done without selecting the Segmentable activity is finished checkbox.

Result:

  • The segment gets the status Completed/Not Done, as applicable.
  • A new pending segment is created for the next working day within the Scheduled Pool of the mobile worker.
  • The Segmentable activity retains the status Started.

Case 2: Managing a Segmentable Activity for a Bucket Resource Type

Scenario: A Segmentable activity is created for a Bucket resource type, and the Segmentable activity is finished checkbox remains unchecked during Complete/Not Done operation.

Steps:

  1. Add the Segmentable Activity: Assign the Segmentable activity to the Bucket (as scheduled or non-scheduled).
  2. Move to mobile worker: Drag-and-drop either the scheduled segment or the non-scheduled Segmentable activity to today’s route of a mobile worker resource.
  3. Activate the Route: Activate the route for the assigned mobile worker.
  4. Start a Segment: Start any segment of the activity.
  5. Complete/Not Done Operation: Mark the current segment as Complete/Not Done without checking the Segmentable activity is finished box.

Result:

  • The segment gets the status Completed/Not Done, as applicable.
  • Remaining duration from the finished segment is handled as follows:
    • If a Scheduled Segment is Moved to mobile worker: A new pending segment is added to the Scheduled Bucket Pool.
    • If Segment Created from Non-Scheduled Activity: The remaining duration is moved to the Non-Scheduled Bucket Pool.
  • The Segmentable activity retains the status Started.
Note: By default, the Segmentable activity is finished checkbox is unchecked for all segments. If you select Segmentable activity is finished checkbox for any segment that has been started, and then proceed with a Complete/Not Done action, the segment will be marked as such. Consequently, the application will remove any remaining scheduled time or any segments that haven't been started yet for this activity.
