Moving Segmentable Activities

You can move and reschedule a segmentable activity to a specific date.

You can move a segmentable activity by:

• Dragging the activity in Dispatch Console (Map, List, Time View)
• Assigning the activity in the Nearby activities flow
• Using the Move button on List view, Activity Details, and activity hint

Regardless of how you move, you use the Assignment Assistant to move segmentable activities (and regular activities too). For more information on moving regular activities using the Assignment Assistant, see the How do I move an activity using the Assignment Assistant? topic.

You can drag an activity or a segment on a resource or route to move the activity. You can use the duration on the hint to estimate whether the destination time slot is enough to move the activity or segment.

For scheduled segmentable activities, the hint displays the duration of the particular segment and for non-scheduled activities, it displays the duration of the entire activity.

Typically, you move a segmentable activity to:

• Reassign segments to another resource

• Reschedule a segment to another day

• Reorder a segment within a route

• Reassign multiple segments to another resource

• Reschedule multiple segments to another day

• Move segmentable activity or segment to/from buckets

• Move segmentable activity or segment to the non-scheduled pool

• Move segmentable activity from non-scheduled pool and create scheduled segments for a single day only or generate segments for the entire duration of the activity

You can drag a segmentable activity to move it in the Activities view. When you move a segmentable activity either by dragging, or using the Move button, the Assignment Assistant shows the extra travel time for the activity. This helps you decide whether the destination resource and time slot is appropriate to receive the activity.
