View Activity Location on a Map

Before starting an activity, you can view the activity location on the map.

To view the location of an activity on the map:
  1. From the home page, select the activity you want to map.
  2. Click Map on the Activity details page.
    • The map displays, showing the activity location.
    • If the activity has high accuracy coordinates, it's indicated with a bubble map pin showing the address, intersection, or the location provided by the customer.
    • If the activity doesn't have high accuracy coordinates and is located within a relatively small area (3 kms and less) , a bubble map pin with a blue radius indicating the size of the area is displayed.
    • Activities located in vast areas (larger than 3 kms), such as large regions or city-level accuracy, aren't displayed on the map. These thresholds might vary by region or activity type.
  3. Click the map marker to display the address of the activity.
Oracle Fusion Field Service includes HERE Maps support for operations in Japan. When the application is configured with Japan as the default geocoding country, maps automatically display higher street-level detail, improved road geometry, and clearer visual representation of activity and resource locations. This enhancement requires no additional configuration or action and improves clarity across both web and mobile experiences. Using the HERE Maps for operations in Japan, you can:
  • Read streets, intersections, and local geography more easily when viewing Japan-based locations.
  • Interpret nearby surroundings faster because the map presents cleaner and more recognizable street layouts.
  • Confirm an activity’s exact location more confidently because surrounding roads and landmarks appear clearly.
  • Assess the travel environment more easily, especially in dense or complex areas.
  • Distinguish activity clusters and nearby routes more effectively because the map shows road networks with greater clarity.
  • Make dispatch decisions with more confidence by seeing how work is distributed across the region.
