If a resource isn't available for work during their regular work schedule or shift,
then you must apply a nonworking reason (for example, illness, vacation, bereavement) to
explain their absence. Once set, this reason appears on the calendar within the
Daily view.

In Fusion Setup and Maintenance, go to . Select the Field Service offering. In the
Scheduling and Dispatch functional area, select the
Shifts and Schedules task. The Shifts page displays all
the shifts you've created so far.

In the Setup field in the header, select
Nonworking Reasons.

Click the plus icon.
The Add Nonworking Reason drawer opens and displays the
General and Translations
tabs.

Complete these fields:
- Enabled: Move the slider to enable the nonworking
reason. The nonworking reason is disabled by default, you must enable it
to assign it to resources.
- Label: Enter a unique identifier for the
nonworking reason. This identifier is mapped to the REST API.
- Name: Enter a name for the nonworking reason.

On the Translations tab, add the name for the nonworking
reason in all the languages configured for your organization.

Click Add.
The nonworking reason is added.

To edit an existing nonworking reason, click Edit in the
Actions column.
Make the changes as required and click Update. The
nonworking reason is updated.
