Add a Nonworking Reason in Oracle Fusion Field Service

If a resource isn't available for work during their regular work schedule or shift, then you must apply a nonworking reason (for example, illness, vacation, bereavement) to explain their absence. Once set, this reason appears on the calendar within the Daily view.

  1. In Fusion Setup and Maintenance, go to Navigator > My Enterprise > Offering Setup. Select the Field Service offering. In the Scheduling and Dispatch functional area, select the Shifts and Schedules task. The Shifts page displays all the shifts you've created so far.
  2. In the Setup field in the header, select Nonworking Reasons.
  3. Click the plus icon.
The Add Nonworking Reason drawer opens and displays the General and Translations tabs.
  4. Complete these fields:
    • Enabled: Move the slider to enable the nonworking reason. The nonworking reason is disabled by default, you must enable it to assign it to resources.
    • Label: Enter a unique identifier for the nonworking reason. This identifier is mapped to the REST API.
    • Name: Enter a name for the nonworking reason.
  5. On the Translations tab, add the name for the nonworking reason in all the languages configured for your organization.
  6. Click Add.
    The nonworking reason is added.
  7. To edit an existing nonworking reason, click Edit in the Actions column.
Make the changes as required and click Update. The nonworking reason is updated.
