Configure Multi-Image Watermark for Attachments

Multi-Image Watermark allows Oracle Fusion Field Service to add a visible, non-removable watermark to photos captured using the Attachments element.

The watermark can include:
  • Geolocation information
  • Date and time information

Each image is processed independently. Oracle Fusion Field Service captures and evaluates location information for every image and assigns an appropriate location status before applying the watermark.

This feature helps organizations improve:
  • Proof of service
  • Compliance
  • Audit readiness
  • Verification of service location

Before you begin

Before you begin, ensure that:
  • The Oracle Fusion Field Service environment is upgraded to 26C or later.
  • The mobile application supports geolocation enhancements.
  • The required form contains an Attachments element.

Configure Multi-Image Watermark

  1. Open a screen that supports the Attachments element in the Visual Form Editor.
  2. Add the Attachments element to the screen.
  3. Expand Photo Settings.
  4. Enable Add watermark to photos.
  5. Save and publish the form.

How Multi-Image Watermark Works

When a mobile worker captures a photo:
  1. Oracle Fusion Field Service captures geolocation information.
  2. A geolocation status is assigned.
  3. Watermark content is generated.
  4. The watermark is applied to the image.

For multiple image capture, each image follows the process independently.

Geolocation Statuses

Oracle Fusion Field Service assigns one of the following statuses to each image:

Status Description
SUCCESS A valid location is captured.
LOW ACCURACY Only a low accuracy location is available.
NO GEOLOCATION No location information is available.
WRONG LOCATION The captured location is outside the configured activity radius.
NO PERMISSION Location permission is unavailable.

Geolocation Capture Process

Field Service evaluates available location information in this order:

  1. Use Recent Device Location
A recent device location is used when:
    • The location is no more than 5 seconds old.
    • Accuracy is 100 meters or better.
  2. Capture a New Location

If a recent location is unavailable, Field Service starts a location capture session for up to 5 seconds.

  3. Use a Previously Stored Location

If a valid location cannot be obtained during the session, Field Service checks for a previously stored valid location.

  4. Use a Low Accuracy Location

If no valid location is available, Field Service selects the best available low accuracy location and assigns a LOW ACCURACY status.

  5. No Location Available

If no location can be obtained, the image receives a NO GEOLOCATION status.

  6. Activity Radius Validation
When a location is available, Field Service verifies whether the location falls within the configured activity radius. If the location is outside the configured area:
    • The location is retained.
    • The image receives a WRONG LOCATION status.

Location Permission Requirements

When watermarking is enabled, location permission is required to capture images.

If permission is not granted:
  • Field Service cannot capture geolocation.
  • The image receives a NO PERMISSION status.
  • Mobile workers cannot capture images until permission is granted.

Watermark Behavior

The watermark:
  • Appears during image capture.
  • Remains visible during preview.
  • Remains visible during editing.
  • Remains visible after cropping.
  • Is always rendered above image edits.
  • Cannot be removed or overwritten.
The watermark can include:
  • Latitude and longitude values up to six decimal places.
  • Timestamp information.
  • Accuracy information when the image status is LOW ACCURACY.
Note:
  • Geolocation enhancements are delivered through mobile application updates.
  • Geolocation warnings appear only when watermarking is enabled.
  • Watermark functionality requires platform version 26C or later and supported mobile application versions.
