Add a Work Schedule or a Shift to a Resource Calendar
You can assign a work schedule or a shift to a resource, bucket, or group. You can also define the on-call schedule of a resource on the Field Resources page in Oracle Fusion Field Service.
Before you start
You can assign a work schedule or shift to a Maintenance Resource if the Maintenance Resource is visible to you on the Field Resources page and you've the required Maintenance Dispatch List permission. For Maintenance Resources, access work schedules and shifts from the Field Resources page. Here's what to do
- In Fusion Setup and Maintenance, go to Navigator > My Enterprise > Offering Setup. Select the Field Service offering. In the Scheduling and Dispatch functional area, select the Field Resources task. The Field Resources page displays all the Field Service resources, except those of "Users/Dispatcher/Admin" type.
-
Select the calendar icon in the required row.
The calendar page appears for the selected resource.
- Select the date for which you want to add the shift and click Add.
-
Complete these fields:
Name Description Schedule This list includes work schedules and shifts. Select the work schedule or shift that you want to apply to the resource.
Select Default schedule, to set the default schedule for the resource. Default schedule is the working time configured for the whole organization, division, or for a particular geographic region. In other words, a default schedule is the working time added at the Organization unit or Bucket level, which is inherited by the child resources.
A default schedule is displayed with a darker color on the calendar, and an individual schedule is displayed with a lighter color.
End Date Enter the date on which the work schedule or shift ends. Comment Enter any comments that you wish to provide, for example, the reason for changing the schedule. Repeat Select how often the working time should repeat (Daily, Weekly, or Yearly). Then, specify the recurrence pattern by entering the number of days or selecting the day of the week. If you select Yearly, choose the date on which the recurring working time ends. -
To add the details of on-call for the resource, select On-Call
and update these fields:
Name Description On-Call Schedule Select On-Call to indicate that a resource is available to be contacted outside of their regular working hours. When an on-call shift is selected, an on-call icon is associated with the shift and displayed on the Dispatch Console, Manage, Calendar, and Resource Calendar pages, and on the resource's avatar.
An on-call shift identifies resources who are available outside their regular work schedule. If an on-call shift isn'tactivated, it can't be used for activity assignments (either manually or through routing optimization) and is excluded from capacity calculations. Once the on-call shift is activated, activities can be assigned to the resource during that shift.
If a resource has both a regular shift and an on-call shift on the same day, the application automatically decides which shift to use:- If the route is activated during the regular shift hours, the regular shift is used.
- If the route is activated outside the regular shift hours, the shift with the closest start time is used.
End Date Select the date on which you want to end the working time. Repeat Select how often the working time should repeat (Daily, Weekly, or Yearly). Then, specify the recurrence pattern by entering the number of days or selecting the day of the week. If you select Yearly, choose the date on which the recurring working time ends.
