Register an Item Catalog

Your Fusion environment might have several item catalogs and inventory organizations. You must register the ones that you want your mobile workers to use. This step applies only if you want to connect to Oracle Fusion Service and Service Logistics directly to get the item catalogs.

  1. Click > Configuration > Parts Catalogs.
  2. Click Register catalog.
You can see this button only if you've added Oracle Fusion Service and Service Logistics as an application on the Configuration > Applications page and you've Read-write permissions for the Parts Catalogs page. For more information about how to add Oracle Fusion Service and Service Logistics as an application, see the Configuring Applications guide. The Register Catalog dialog box appears and lists the item catalogs and inventory organizations present in your Fusion environment.
  3. On the Register Catalog dialog box, select an item catalog or an inventory organization that you want to register.
A label for the catalog is generated and displayed in the Catalog Label field. The most used fields of the item catalog are displayed.
  4. To configure the structure of these fields, click Configure.
    1. To display a different name for a field in Oracle Fusion Field Service, change the name in the Display Name field.
    2. To add more fields to the structure, click Add Field and select the name of the field. The list includes the field names of the selected item catalog or organization.
    3. To make a field searchable, click Searchable.
    4. To remove a field from the structure, click the Remove field icon. A field that’s removed isn’t synced with Oracle Fusion Field Service.
You can configure the structure of the fields only at the time of registering the catalog. To change the structure later, you must delete the catalog and register it again.
  5. Click Register.

The catalog is set up for synchronization and the item data including any related items are imported in the background. This process might take some time. The next step after the catalog is imported is to assign the catalog to user types.
