Internal resource organizations represent the hierarchy of your enterprise - they
appear as 'Organization Units' in the Resource Tree within Oracle Fusion Field Service and users can be initially assigned to these organizations. For clarity - you manage
Oracle Fusion Field Service buckets (for routing and booking) strictly using the
Oracle Fusion Field Service UI, and move users/resources between organizations
units and buckets as necessary easily from within Oracle Fusion Field Service as
well.
Follow these steps to perform the Manage Internal Resource Organizations task:
-
Sign in to your Oracle Applications Cloud environment as an implementation
user.
-
Click Navigator > My Enterprise > Setup and
Maintenance.
- Ensure that Field Service is selected in the Setup field in the
header.
- Click Users and Security in the Functional Areas section.
-
Click Manage Internal Resource Organizations to search
for existing resource organizations.
-
To create a new organization, on the Manage Internal Resource
Organizations page, click Create.
The Create Organization: Select Creation Method page is
displayed.
-
Select Option 2: Create New Organization, then click
Next.
-
Enter the name of the resource organization in the Name field (for example,
'Supremo Fitness - FL'). This is the name that appears within the resource tree
in Oracle Fusion Field Service, but only after a user is created and
assigned to that resource organization. Keep these points in mind when naming
resource organizations:
- Each resource organization name must be unique.
- The names don't have to correspond to any formal organization in your
enterprise. The names are there solely to create a resource tree.
- Don't use the name of a manager as the organization name as you might
want to change the management of the organization to someone else
later.
-
In the Organization Usages section, click
Add and select Service Organization.
-
Click Finish and then the Back arrow to return to the
Functional Areas task list.
If you need to change the name of a resource organization at some later date,
you can do so using the Manage Internal Resource
Organizations task.
