Prompt Mobile Application Users to Upgrade Mobile Application from Previous Versions
A number of mobile app (iOS, Android) users may be using older versions, which are generally less stable and contain fewer features. The app automatically prompts such users to update from previous versions to the latest version.
The mobile app performs these steps:
- Identifies the version of the installed app when the user has successfully logged in.
- Compares the user's version to the latest version available in the respective
app stores.
- If the user's version of the mobile app is one of the six most recent major versions, the user does not see any change in the behavior and can continue to use the app.
- For versions older than that, the app displays a message that blocks the
use of the app unless they update it to the latest version.
