Creating Alert Types

When users encounter issues that prevent them from performing a task such as a hardware problem or system failure, they can create alerts for the issue.

Administrators can create Alert Types for categories of possible issues, such as System Down, and so on. When you create an Alert Type, you define the properties such as name, description, Alert Type ID, any instructions that you want to include for users, and additional questions to users for more details. You set up the workflow with an assignee, optional backup assignee, and any additional viewers for the Alert Type.

Using information gathered from Alert Types that users select, you can analyze the types of issues that users encounter during the business cycle and make changes to prevent them in future cycles.

You can view the list of the Alert Types that you have created, and edit and delete them from the Alert Types page.
