Consolidating and Translating Data in Data Forms with No Prompts

When you launch the Consolidation or Translation process from a Data form, the process prompts you to select the Entity, Period, Scenario and Year members for which to run consolidation or translation. If you do not want to have to select members each time, you can configure a task that adds new rules for you to run Consolidation and Translation from Data forms without dimension member prompts. When you run the consolidation and translation rules from a Data form, the system uses the members defined in the cell to execute the Business Rule.

Note:

The Consolidate or Translate with No-Prompt rules are available from Data forms or Smart View only. You cannot run them from the Rules card.

  • If you have a multi-currency application, new rules will be added for both Consolidation and Translation.

  • If you have a single currency application, new rules will be added for Consolidation only.

  • If you have enabled the Control To-Date View Storage Option, additional rules will be available for by selected View with No Prompts.

After you enable this feature from the Configuration task, these new rules are available that you can attach to a Data form.

  • Consolidate with No Prompts

  • ForceConsolidation with No Prompts

  • Translate with No Prompts

  • ForceTranslate with No Prompts

    These additional rules are available if you have enabled the Control To-Date View Storage option:

  • Consolidate - by selected View with No Prompts

  • ForceConsolidate - by selected View with No Prompts

  • Translate - by selected View with No Prompts

  • ForceTranslate -by selected View with No Prompts

To attach the rules to a Data form:

  1. On the Home page, click Application, select Configuration, then select Enable Compute with No Prompts Rules.
  2. Click Launch to enable the new rules.
  3. From the confirmation message, click OK.
  4. Click the Navigator icon, then from Create and Manage, click Forms to open and edit a Data form.
  5. To associate a context menu with the form, select the Other Options tab, select Compute with No Prompts and move it to Selected Menus. From a form cell, you can then right-click and select the applicable rule.
  6. After you finish making changes, save the form.

To consolidate or translate data from a Data form:

  1. On the Home page, click Data, then select a form.
  2. Select the point of view.
  3. Select a cell for which to run consolidation or translation.
  4. Right-click and select the applicable rule from the context menu.
  5. When the process successfully completes, click OK at the confirmation message.
  6. To check the job status, open the Jobs console, and click the name of the job to view Job Details.
