Define IBGE Codes for Cities and States

You can configure the corresponding IBGE code as an alternative code for the geography for each state,

Each city and state has a standard numeric code defined by the IBGE. The tax authority requires this code as the standard geography identification. During the fiscal document generation process, the IBGE codes associated with the location addresses related to the fiscal document are extracted and communicated to the tax authority

Follow these steps:

  1. Configure the corresponding IBGE code as an alternative code for the geography for each state. Follow these steps:
    1. Navigate to the Manage Geographies task.
    2. Search for Brazil country.
    3. Select the Brazil geography record and click Hierarchy Defined.
    4. In the Geography Hierarchy section, select the first state under Brazil to highlight the table row.
    5. Click Edit. The Edit State page opens.
    6. In Primary and Alternative Codes section, click Add.
    7. Enter these values:
      1. In the Code field, enter the IBGE numeric code of the state
      2. In the Code Type field, enter the Brazil IBGE City Code
      3. In the Data Provider field, enter the User entered data provider.
      4. In the Language field, enter Brazilian Portuguese.
    8. Click Save and Close.
    9. Repeat these substeps for the other states.
  2. Configure the corresponding IBGE code as an alternative code for the geography for each city. Follow these steps:
    1. Navigate to the Manage Geographies task.
    2. Search for Brazil country.
    3. Select the Brazil geography record and click Hierarchy Defined.
    4. In the Geography Hierarchy section, select the first state under Brazil to highlight the table row.
    5. Click the View list, and select Expand.
    6. Select the first city under the state to highlight the table row.
    7. Click Edit. The Edit City page opens.
    8. In the Primary and Alternative Codes section, click Add.
    9. Enter these values:
      1. In the Code field, enter the IBGE numeric code of the state
      2. In the Code Type field, enter the Brazil IBGE City Code
      3. In the Data Provider field, enter the User entered data provider.
      4. In the Language field, enter Brazilian Portuguese.
    10. Click Save and Close.
    11. Repeat these substeps for the other cities.
