Compacting the Outline

You can schedule a job to compact the outline of an aggregate storage cube. Compaction helps keep the outline file at an optimal size. Compacting the outline does not clear the data, and won't push any changes to Oracle Essbase.

A Compact Outline job is automatically created and is available for you to schedule from the App Maintenance tab on the Jobs console.

To schedule a Compact Outline job:

1. From the Home page, click Application, and then click Jobs.

2. From the Jobs console, click the App Maintnenance tab.

3. Click the checkbox next to the Compact Outline job to select it.

4. With the job selected, click in the Actions column, and select Schedule.

5. In the Schedule Job dialog box, under Run Job, select either Run Now or Schedule

6. Review the details for the job, and then click Submit.
