Automatic Enrolment Processes

Use Pensions Automatic Enrolment for the setup of pension scheme elements and eligibility rules and the configuration of organisation and employee pension automatic enrolment cards.

You can then process eligible employees and create their Benefits and Pensions card automatically.

You must attach an enrolment type value in pensions automatic enrolment card as well as qualifying pension scheme.

See Enrolment Type for further information on usage of the Pension Joining Method and Qualifying Scheme Start Date fields.

You must create an association detail for the employee’s assignment on the Pensions Automatic Enrolment card.

Without the points mentioned above, the TPS process will error out.

The Pensions Automatic Enrolment process also handles:

  • Contractual and manual enrolment into a qualifying scheme such as TPS
  • Opting out of or leaving a scheme

The Pensions Automatic Enrolment Additional Scheme Information card includes a Payee for Pension Contributions field; the payment method associated with that payee determines the payment method reported in the MCR submission.
