Supported create and update statuses for Oracle Learning assignments
The learning assignment statuses that you can create and update using LearningRecord and HCM Data Loader depend on the learning type and assignment type.
The assignment types and statuses in these tables reflect the LearningRecord data model and might differ from the terminology used on the current Oracle Learning pages.

Activity sequencing affects how the load process handles an existing completed, unexpired assignment for the same course. When activity sequencing is turned on and you create a required or voluntary course assignment, the load process creates an assignment with an Active status and expires the existing assignment.
- For a required assignment, the existing assignment expiration date is the same as the new assignment due date.
- For a voluntary assignment, the existing assignment expiration date is the same as the new assignment start date.
When activity sequencing is turned off, the load process creates a course assignment with a Completed status.

You can't load active offering assignments for learners whose employment was terminated. You also can't create an offering assignment with an initial status of Completed. You can create a completed course assignment, as described in the previous section. Then use the ActualScore attribute in the LearningRecord.dat file to load a passing score for the corresponding offering assignment.

When you create a legacy learning assignment with a Completed status, Oracle Learning stores the assignment with a Bypass Complete status. You can also provide a reason code, comments, and actual effort. This behavior is the same as when a learning specialist manually changes an assignment status to Bypass Complete.
