Advanced Search in Position LOVs on Redwood Positions Pages and Processes

You can use advanced search in these position List of Values (LOVs) on the Redwood create, duplicate, correct, and update position pages, and also the position processes:

  • Parent Position LOV
  • Funding Position LOV
  • Delegate Position LOV
Note:

Note: Advanced search is available in the position LOVs only when you complete these prerequisites:

  • Enable Oracle Search for position LOVs.
  • Enable the ORA_PER_LOV_ADVANCED_SEARCH_ENABLED profile option. The default value is No at the Site level.

Here are some key points to note about advanced search in position LOVs:

  • The advanced search in position LOVs is available in the Redwood create, duplicate, correct, and update position pages and the position processes.
  • The More search options link appears only when you enter a search term in the LOV. It doesn't appear when you click the drop-down arrow without entering a search term.
  • After you have selected a specific position in the LOV, the More search options link won't display if you click the drop-down arrow again.
  • If you cancel the advanced search panel drawer, it closes without making a selection and the current workflow remains unchanged.
  • When you duplicate a position, the Parent Position and Delegate Position are copied from the position you’re duplicating. But the Funding Position won’t be copied, and you need to select a value manually to ensure accuracy.

Use Advanced Search in Position LOVs

To use the advanced search for the Parent Position LOV when you’re creating a new position:

  1. Go to My Client Groups > Show More > Positions.

  2. Enter the Effective Start Date.

  3. In the Parent Position LOV, type a search term.

  4. Select the More search options link that’s displayed at the end of the search results.

Note: You’ll see this link only when you type a search term in the LOV. You won’t see the link if you don’t type any search term, or after you have selected a position.
  5. The Search for and select a position panel drawer opens.

It’s very similar to the Positions search page.

  6. Search for a term in the panel drawer.

The records that match the search term are displayed.

  7. Apply additional filters if you want to refine the search results further.
  8. Select a row from the search results and click Select.

The business unit and department are automatically populated based on the selected parent position because it’s a create flow.

  9. If you don’t want to select anything in the panel drawer, select Cancel to close the drawer.

Now when you select a position, it won’t show you the More search options link.

  10. Enter the data in the remaining fields as required and select Submit.
  11. On the Positions search page, search for the new position you created to view the record.

The advanced search for the other two position LOVs works in exactly the same way.
