How do I use the succession organization chart?
As a manager, you can use the succession organization chart to review the succession planning for your org.
Start on the Home page.
Click My Team.
Under the Quick Actions list, click Show More and select Succession Organization Chart.
You’ll focus on these three tabs.
Highlight the first three tabs.
First you can review your direct reports who have succession plans, including a count of the plans they have. If their impact of loss, risk of loss, or job criticality attributes have a High rating, the succession org chart displays a red flag next to their name.
Highlight the number of plans.
Highlight the High rating flag.
Hover over the flags for the 3 direct reports.
Click to focus on any of your directs and get more detailed info. You can review their risk of loss, impact of loss, job criticality and talent review box assignment information as well as plans for their role, and plans they’re candidates in.
Highlight each item as it’s mentioned in the narration.
Click the Succession Plans tab.
This tab displays an overview of the plan for Brian’s role, including the number of candidates, interim successors, who those candidates are and their readiness for this particular plan. You can click the plan name for the full plan details.
Highlight each item as it’s mentioned in the narration.
Click the Candidate in Plans tab.
This tab displays an overview of the plans in which this manager is a candidate. It includes info about the plan and the readiness of all the candidates, including this manager. Again, you can click the plan name for the full plan details.
Highlight each item as it’s mentioned in the narration.
Click Robert VPHR.
Perhaps the most important thing you can review are your directs without plans who might have a high impact of loss.
Click the Direct without Plans tab.
Two of these directs have High ratings, including one with a high Impact of Loss.
Highlight the flags.
Hover over the flag for Morgan Zu.
You can focus on this employee, and create a plan for their role, or add them to a plan.
Click Morgan Zu.
Click the Actions icon.
Highlight the available actions.
Click Robert VPHR.
