Configure the Back and Next Buttons
The back and next buttons can be configured to change their position on the screen and their style. The back button can also been hidden completely in an interview.
Add or remove the back button
To add or remove the back button from an interview:
- On the Interview tab, click the Styles button.
- In the Styles dialog box, select the Styling tab.
- In the Navigation Strip section, click the back button.
- In the pop-up window:
- select the Include back button check box to include the back button on interview screens
- deselect the Include back button check box to remove the back button from interview screens
- Click OK.
The back button can be removed on a per-screen basis.
Note: This feature is only available in Latest Version Interviews.
To do this:
- On the Interview tab in Policy Modeling, select the screen in the screen list.
- In the screen layout view, select the back button.
- On the command bar, click the None button. The screen layout view is updated to show that there is no button on that screen.
Tip: To re-instate a removed back button on a screen, select the button placeholder (that is, the No Back Button) and click Back on the command bar.
Remove the next button
The next button can only be removed on a per-screen basis. To do this:
- On the Interview tab in Policy Modeling, select the screen in the screen list.
- In the screen layout view, select the next button.
- On the command bar, click the None button. The screen layout view is updated to show that there is no button on that screen.
Tip: To re-instate a removed next button on a screen, select the button placeholder (that is, the No Next Button) and select Next on the command bar.
Change the position of the back and next buttons
You can change the position of the back and next buttons on the screen. To do this:
- On the Interview tab, click the Styles button.
- In the Styles dialog box, select the Styling tab.
- In the Navigation Strip section, click the back or next button.
- In the pop-up window, select the position from the Back/next position drop-down list. The options are:
- Top Right
- Bottom Left
- Bottom Right
- Bottom Left-Right (for Latest Version Interviews only)
- Navigation strip (for Latest Version Interviews only)
- Click OK.
Note: Changing the position of the back and next buttons to the navigation strip, will also move the restart and exit buttons to the navigation strip (except when the navigation strip is shown in the left menu).
Change the style of the back and next buttons
You can change the styles used for the back and next buttons. To do this:
- On the Interview tab, click the Styles button.
- In the Styles dialog box, select the Styling tab.
- In the Navigation Strip section, click on the back or next button as appropriate.
- In the pop-up window, change the style settings as required. The following button style changes are supported:
- Font (family)
- Font size (note that in the font Size field you can type in a specific font point size, for example, 15px)
- Bold text
- Italic text
- Text color
- Button size (small or large)
- Border color
- Gradient
- Background color (for non-gradient buttons)
- Start Color (for gradient buttons)
- End Color (for gradient buttons)
- Active color (the color the button changes to while clicked)
- Shadowed
- Rounded
- Click OK.
Note: The style of the next button also determines the style of the associated submit button.
