Insert an Attribute Into a PDF Form Template
The following information about attributes can be included in a PDF form:
- attribute values (either formatted or unformatted for the project region)
- attribute text
- attribute question text
- inferred attribute values
- entity-level attribute values
Note: Attributes that are to be included in a form need to have a name defined in Policy Modeling. If not a global attribute, the parent entity must also have a name.
To include attributes in PDF form templates:
- In your PDF editor, make sure the PDF form template is in form editing mode.
- Add a text field where you would like the attribute to appear. (For example, next to the text label for that field.)
- In the PDF Form Assistant dialog, click the Attributes tab and select the attribute that you want to insert. You can use the Filter field to search for attributes containing a particular string of text.
- Select the type of information about that attribute that you want inserted. The options are:
- Formatted value - uses the value formatted for the project region
- Unformatted value - uses an internal data format
- Text - uses the sentence text of the attribute
- Question text - uses the question form of the attribute
Note that the Field code changes depending on the choice.
- Click the Copy button (or Ctrl+C).
- In the PDF form template, edit the field properties.
- Replace the field name by pasting the copied field code (Ctrl+V).
- Accept the change. The field in the PDF form template is updated to show the Intelligent Advisor code for the field name.
- Save the PDF form template.
