Getting started with segmentation

With CrowdTwist, you can drive personalization and deliver relevancy to keep customers engaged and coming back to your brand. CrowdTwist's segmentation capabilities allow you to create unique audiences and serve them relevant activities and rewards. Delivering personalized experiences allows your brand to deepen relationships and, in time, reduce the dependency on discounts and mass promotions to protect your margins. Through the platform’s segmentation capabilities, CrowdTwist helps brands maximize margins by engaging and rewarding your best customers with exciting, relevant and personalized offers.

You can use segmentation to group members based on stated preferences and observed behavior to deliver a personalized member experience. For example:

  • Personalization: Customize member experience with specific activities, rewards & loyalty data (e.g. tier, point balances, etc)
  • Automatic rewards: Send members reward/coupon codes or point gifts based on specific engagement
  • Bonus points: Allow only certain segments to qualify for bonus point campaigns

Automatic Rewards with Segmentation

  • Create campaigns to automatically reward members whenever they enter into a particular segment
  • Distribute automatic rewards such as point gifts, standard rewards, digital downloads, or coupon codes
  • Leverage reward frequency caps to limit the number of times a user can be awarded if they re-enter the segment

Bonus Points with Segmentation

  • Create campaigns to incentivize a segment within client member base to complete a certain activity or purchase
  • Reward options include point multiplier or point gift

Segment Criteria

  • Data used to define segments:
    • Data collected by CrowdTwist: location information, transactional information, engagement activities completed, rewards redeemed, additional profile information like age, gender, etc.
    • Your-defined segments: you can upload your own segments
  • Segment refresh options:
    • Point-in-Time: Segments are created and ran once in a point-in-time and not refreshed (e.g. only applicable to the group of members picked up at the time it ran)
    • Continuous: Segments update once a day, every 24 hours.
