Point sharing groups

Point sharing groups, also called householding or point pooling, let members combine point balances to earn bigger rewards. Point sharing groups are available as a widget and through our API.

Once point sharing groups are enabled by program managers, any member can create a point sharing group. This member is the head of group. The head of group can add or remove group members.

Good to know

  • A member can only be part of a single point sharing group.
  • Point sharing groups can include up to 8 members. The head of group can invite up to 7 members at a time. If invites are rejected, the head of group can invite additional members.
  • A member's point balance is maintained individually, but their points are eligible to be redeemed by any member of the point sharing group.
  • Members that are part of a point sharing group are able to see other members, total point pool, and a history of the group's point earning and redemption.
  • Point redemption is determined by your point expiration configuration. If your points expiration method is first in / first out, points will be redeemed in the order they were earned. Otherwise points will be redeemed as evenly as possible.

  • Members can leave the point sharing group at any time. When a member leaves the group, they take their existing point balance with them. The point sharing group history continues to display a member's contributions even after they have left the group.
  • Tiers are not impacted by point sharing groups.
