Adding Share with your Network
Important: Effective June 2024, Responsys will not support Classic Campaign functionality. After the effective date, Campaign Designer will be the only Responsys tool for creating and sending targeted and personalized campaigns. Learn more about the Campaign Designer.
What if you make your customers an offer that’s too good to refuse? What if you make it even better by inviting them to share the email with their friends on Facebook and followers on Twitter? That’s what the Share with your Network feature is all about.
Here’s how it works. When recipients open your email, they see links that let them share the email's contents - using the message and image you specify - to their Facebook walls or Twitter feeds. Your message is now available to a much wider audience of friends and followers who can then share it further.
Before you start you will need:
- A campaign configured with these basics already set up:
- A thumbnail image for the Facebook post. The best size is 130 x 90 pixels.
- The images you want to use instead of the standard Facebook and Twitter buttons we provide.
To add Share with your Network to a campaign:
- To get started, go to the Campaign Dashboard. Make sure that the audience, content, and link table are set up for the campaign. And make sure the Track Link Clicks setting is turned on.
- Navigate to Dynamic Content. Open the Dynamic Content Designer and switch to the Edit tab. Make sure you’re in the Rich Text Editor.
This is where you’ll add the Facebook and Twitter buttons to your email and specify the contents of the Facebook post or the tweet. - Click the location where you want to add the link and click the
Share with your Network icon.
- Customize your label, choose your social networks, and then choose an orientation.
- Specify the message content to be shared with each network.
-
Click Save.
- Select the image and adjust the alignment. If necessary, substitute other images for the ones Oracle Responsys supplies.
- To substitute your own images for Facebook and Twitter shares, turn off the Rich Text Editor.
- Locate the block of code that contains the image reference, and replace the image location with your own image.
- Return to the Rich Text Editor and click Save to update your email.
