Dynamic Content Templates – Defining Rules
To open the dynamic content template wizard, click Actions on the side navigation bar, and select Create Dynamic Content Template. (Not seeing this choice? Refer to the Side navigation bar changes topic.)
Define the processing rules for your dynamic content template. These rules control the displayed content used in an associated campaign message and/or form.
Dynamic Content Modules
Your defined rule components are referred to as a “dynamic content module.”
One or more of these modules can then be associated with and positioned in a campaign message or form using the dynamic content functionality built into the Campaign Designer.
Dynamic Content Partners
You can take advantage of product and offer recommendation engines to insert highly targeted content in an email campaigns. If the Account Administrator has defined any of these partner content providers for your account, you can use them in your campaign.
- Select the partner content provider from the drop-down list.
- Click Insert tags to insert the default partner tags.
- Edit the tags as needed so they will work for your campaign.
Notes
- You may define one or more processing rules.
Note: Default rule is always included.
- Be sure to arrange your rules in a logical order. Rules are evaluated from top to bottom.
- Click Add Dynamic Content Rule to define rule name, condition(s), HTML/Text content, form, etc.
- Name the rules using only the following characters: A-Z a-z 0-9 space ! - = @ _ [ ] { }
- Choose character set for all defined rules.
Note: If your account is set up for multiple recipient locales that require multiple character sets, and one of those character sets is Western European (ISO-8859-1), review Windows special characters before making your selection.
- Each rule can insert plain text (which can include Oracle Responsys Built-in Functions and any other text that is appropriate for the format you've selected), a document you select from a folder in your account, or nothing (as a default rule, for example).
- Once specifying the content to be inserted by a dynamic content module based on this template in one format, you can copy it and paste that content into the other formats for the same module. This makes it easier to ensure that the same dynamic content will be displayed in all formats of your campaign message (given the capabilities of each format, of course).
- If you do not want dynamic content modules based on this template
to be included in the Dynamic Content
Report, uncheck the Track for Reporting option.
Important: If you use this template to create a dynamic content module in a campaign or form, that module is not affected by any changes you make to this template. Likewise, this template is not affected by any changes to modules that were based on it.
