Importing data from Magento to Responsys

Imports are jobs that transfer data from Magento to Oracle Responsys. You can import contacts (including their opt-in and opt-out status), product data, order data, and order-line item data.

Before you begin:

  • Ensure that the Magento app shows "Enabled" as its status on the Applications page.

  • Ensure that you have set up at least one connection in the Magento app.

  • For products, orders, and order-line item imports, you must create target supplemental tables in Responsys.

Important: The steps in this section must be done by a user enabled with either the Account Administrator or CX Apps Director role.

To access the Imports page:

  1. Log in to Oracle Responsys as an Account Administrator or a CX Apps Director user.
  2. Click the navigation menu An image of the navigation menu and then click Account.
  3. On the Account page, locate and click App Management. The Applications page is displayed.
  4. Locate your Magento app and click Edit button icon..
  5. From the Magento app page, click Imports.

To create an import:

  1. From the Imports page, click Create Import.

  2. Select the Connection. This corresponds to the Magento shop domain from which you'll be obtaining data.

  3. Enter an Import Name.

  4. Select a Magento Object and a Responsys Object.

    • The Magento Object is the source for the import. It can be contacts, opt-ins, products, orders, and order-line items.

    • The Responsys Object is the destination of the import. Depending on the Magento object selected, it can be a profile list (for contacts and opt-in data) or a supplemental table (for products, orders, and order-line items).

    Example:  If a Magento contact list has customers who have subscribed to a newsletter, you can select the Opt-In option to ensure that the opt-in data from Magento is imported in Responsys

  5. Set the Schedule for the import.
  6. The Map Unique Identifier region enables you to map both the Magento and Responsys identifiers. This section is pre-populated according to the objects you select for the import. The example below shows the pre-populated items for a contact data import.

  7. The Map Fields region displays the default mapping between Magento and Responsys. You can add more fields or remove any field(s) that are not applicable for your import job.

  8. When you are finished, click Create Import. The Imports page displays your newly created import.

The newly created import won't run until you enable it.

To enable an import:

  1. Locate your import on the Imports page.

  2. Click Action menu. Clicking this menu icon on a row expands the menu of choices for the row. and select Enable.

To perform other actions with an import:

  1. Locate your import on the Imports page.

  2. Click Action menu. Clicking this menu icon on a row expands the menu of choices for the row. and select one of the following actions:

    • Edit: Opens the edit page for an import. Make your changes and click Save Import.

    • Run Now: Runs the import to bring the Magento data in to Responsys. Use this option when you need to run the import outside of the scheduled run time. The import must be enabled before you can use this action.

    • Enable or Disable: Toggles the status of the import to Enabled or Disabled. Enabled imports run according to the schedule set for the import.

    • Duplicate: Opens a copy of the import into a create page. Make your changes and click Create Import. The import is added to the Imports page.

    • View Reports: View a chart and table showing successful and failed runs of the import.

    • Delete: Deletes the import. The import must be disabled before you can use this action.
