Resetting Passwords, Unlocking, and Deleting Users

Depending on how your account was set up, resetting passwords, unlocking, and deleting users may be done using Responsys or using Oracle Identity Cloud.

To determine the method to use, choose an option:

  • When you login in to Responsys, if you are shown the Responsys login page, you can manage this user account functionality in Responsys. Use the information below for help with these tasks.

  • When you login, if you are redirected to the Oracle Cloud login, go to the Oracle Identity Cloud help center for more information.

Navigating to user accounts

Use this page to delete users, edit user information, reset a user's password, and unlock a user's account.

To navigate to a user account:

  1. As an Account Administrators, select The Account iconAccount on the side navigation bar.
  2. Select User identity management, and then select Add user. (Not seeing this choice? Refer to the Account management changes topic.)
  3. Select User management.

Deleting a user

Warning: Deleting a user permanently removes the user's profile information from the account. As account administrator, it is a good practice to create an Account Administrator user profile that is separate from your individual user profile. You cannot delete your Account Administrator user profile.

To delete a user, select the user's name from the list and click Delete, then click Yes on the confirmation message.

Resetting a user's password

To reset a user's password, select the user's name from the list and click Reset Password. We will send an email to the user's email address with instructions for resetting the password.

Unlocking a user's account

Oracle Responsys locks an account after 5 unsuccessful login attempts.

If the account is locked, the login page will display a notification. In addition, the user and the Account Administrator will receive an email notification.

The user will be able to log in again after the specified lockout time (60 minutes by default), or you can manually unlock the account.

You can change the lockout time.

To manually unlock a user's account, select the user's name from the list and click Unlock Account. After you unlock the account, we will send a notification email to the user and they will be able to log in with their existing password.
