Features Available for Testing in a Sandbox

Many OpenAir features are available for testing in sandbox accounts. Some features are only available in a limited form in sandbox accounts, and a few behind-the-scenes tasks that run in your production account do not run in your sandbox account. See the following for details about features in sandbox accounts:

When your sandbox account is created or refreshed, not all features enabled in your production account are enabled in your sandbox account. Some features can be enabled for your sandbox account on request, and other functionality require action on your part before they can be used in your sandbox account. For more information, see Actions Required after Sandbox Creation or Refresh.

During sandbox creation and refreshes, certain objects are not copied from your production account. For more information, see Data That is Not Copied from Production to Sandbox.

Features Available for Limited Testing in Sandbox Accounts

The following features are only available in a limited form in sandbox accounts:

Attachments

Attachment files are not copied from your production account to the sandbox account.

Attempting to download an attachment results in a "Page not found" unless the attachment was added after the sandbox account was created or refreshed.

Attachment Thumbnail

Attachment files and attachment thumbnail files are not copied from your production account to the sandbox account.

Attachment thumbnails will not show in forms and list views unless they were added after the sandbox account was created or refreshed.

Attachment Viewer

Attachment files and attachment thumbnail files are not copied from your production account to the sandbox account.

You cannot preview attachment files in the attachment viewer unless they were added after the sandbox account was created or refreshed.

American Express Integration

You should not test the American Express integration in a sandbox account. If testing is required, test the functionality for a small set of users in your production account.

Daily Foreign Currency Exchange Rate Updates

Foreign exchange rates are not updated on sandbox accounts. To update the exchange rate in your sandbox account you can request a sandbox refresh or update the exchange rates manually. If you are using the OpenAir <> NetSuite integration between your OpenAir and NetSuite sandbox accounts, you can use the exchange rate integration to update the foreign exchange rates in your OpenAir sandbox account with the latest information from your NetSuite sandbox account.

Forgot your password or ID?

The Forgot your password or ID functionality is not supported on the sign-in page for your sandbox account. Users must contact an account administrator to get a reminder of their User ID or password hint.

Security Questions – Reset your password or unlock your user account

The Security Questions feature and the Reset your password or unlock your user account functionality are not supported on the sign-in page for your sandbox account. Users must contact an account administrator to reset their password. If no account administrators can access the sandbox account, you can request a sandbox refresh.
