Troubleshoot an authenticator app
Use these checks when QuickStart does not accept the verification code from your authenticator app during two-factor authentication (2FA). The article helps you confirm that you are using the correct account and current code, correct device-time problems, use a backup code, or identify when an administrator must reset your 2FA setup.
- Make sure the app supports the OATH TOTP standard. Oracle Mobile Authenticator and Google Authenticator are examples of supported apps.
- In the authenticator app, select the entry for the QuickStart account and sign-in email that you are currently using.
- Enter the current 6-digit code before it expires. Do not reuse an older code.
- Set the date and time on the device to update automatically. An incorrect device time can cause the generated code to be rejected.
- If the code still does not work, select Try a backup code or Use backup code, depending on the screen, and enter an unused 8-digit backup code.
If neither the authenticator app nor a backup code is available, contact the person in your company who manages QuickStart.
