Recover when you cannot verify with 2FA

Use an unused backup code when you cannot generate the authenticator code required for two-factor authentication (2FA). If neither method is available, ask a QuickStart administrator to reset your 2FA setup, then configure the authenticator again and securely store the replacement backup codes.

  1. On the 2FA verification screen, select Can’t access your authenticator app?.
  2. Select Try a backup code.
  3. Enter an unused 8-digit backup code and continue the sign-in or recovery process.

Each backup code can be used only one time. Remove a used code from your stored list.

If you cannot generate an authenticator code and do not have an unused backup code, contact the person in your company who manages QuickStart. An administrator must help you reset the 2FA setup. After access is restored, configure the authenticator app again and securely store the new backup codes.
