Create a bank deposit

Create a bank deposit to move received payments from Undeposited Funds to a bank account and to record other deposited funds, fees, or cash back. Open Menu, select Banking, and then select Cash management.

You need the administrator, full business access, or accountant access profile. A deposit must contain at least one undeposited transaction or other-funds line.

Create the bank deposit

  1. Open Menu, select Banking, and then select Cash management.
  2. On the Bank deposits card, select Create new.
  3. Select the bank account. QuickStart supplies its posting period.
  4. Review the deposit date and enter a memo, as needed.
  5. To include transactions posted to Undeposited Funds:
    1. In the Undeposited funds section, select Select funds.
    2. Select the customer payments, customer refunds, or journal entries to deposit.
    3. Select Apply.
  6. To record funds that are not already in Undeposited Funds:
    1. In the Other funds section, select Add funds.
    2. Select the required Account. Select a payer or payee if applicable.
    3. Enter the amount and apply the line. Enter a positive amount for deposited funds and a negative amount for cash back or applicable fees.
  7. Review the total and Accounting section.
  8. Select Submit.

QuickStart debits the selected bank account and credits Undeposited Funds or the accounts selected on Other funds lines.

You can edit a deposit while its accounting period is open and it has not been reconciled. Removing a selected payment or cash sale from QuickStart before removing it from the deposit prevents the deposit from being saved.
