Get started with bank deposits
Use bank deposits to record customer payments from undeposited funds, other money received, fees, and cash back in a bank account. A submitted deposit debits the selected bank account and credits Undeposited Funds and the accounts selected on positive Other funds lines. A negative Other funds line, such as a fee or cash back amount, debits its selected account. A saved draft can be completed later.
Open Menu, select Banking, select Cash management, and then select Bank deposits. A bank deposit can contain:
- Transactions already posted to Undeposited Funds, such as customer payments, customer refunds, and journal entry lines.
- Other funds that are not already recorded in Undeposited Funds.
- Negative Other funds lines for cash back or applicable fees.
You need the administrator, full business access, or accountant access profile to create a bank deposit.
