Ship dates on sales order lines

Ship dates on a sales order line distinguish when the customer requests shipment, when your company promises it, and when QuickStart expects the item to ship from available or incoming supply. QuickStart calculates the read-only Expected ship date from allocated supply and moves it later when a requested or promised date requires a later shipment.

These fields are displayed on a new sales order line before the order is submitted and remain available when the order is viewed or edited. Review them before submitting the order and after any allocation change.

Expected ship date is calculated by QuickStart and is read-only. For a line that allocates current inventory, QuickStart bases the expected date on the requested and promised dates and the line’s allocation state.

For a line that allocates future supply, QuickStart calculates Expected ship date from the latest allocated supply. The field is read-only. A requested or promised date that is later than the supply date can move the expected date later.

After submitting or changing an order, review both its allocation status and ship dates. A date does not guarantee that inventory is allocated.
