Get started with ShipStation API

Use ShipStation API when your company needs integrated carrier rates or shipping labels in QuickStart. The setup connects carrier accounts in the ShipStation API portal, synchronizes their carriers and service levels to QuickStart, and makes them available to shipping methods, sales orders, and item fulfillments.

  1. Register your company with ShipStation API.
  2. In the ShipStation API portal, connect your carrier accounts and provide the required billing or funding information.
  3. Return to Menu > Products and services > Settings > Shipping > Shipping carrier accounts and select Refresh integrated carriers.
  4. Confirm that the synchronized carrier accounts and service levels appear in QuickStart.
  5. Create a shipping method that uses the integrated carrier account and service level.
  6. Add the shipping method to a sales order and select an integrated rate.
  7. Fulfill the sales order, add its package details, and generate the label.

The exact carrier and billing screens in the third-party portal depend on the selected carrier and can change independently of QuickStart.
