What are the different access profiles?

QuickStart provides five access profiles that bundle permission sets for common responsibilities: Administrator, Full business access, Accountant, Sales rep, and Operations. Use this comparison to choose the profile whose business, financial, sales, operational, or configuration access matches an internal user’s work without granting unnecessary permissions.

Administrator access profile

The administrator access profile permits access to all QuickStart features and tasks, including configuration tasks and the ability to edit all business information. Up to 1000 people can be assigned the administrator profile.

The administrator profile is automatically assigned to the first person who is granted access to the QuickStart account because this profile is necessary for initial tasks, such as creating people’s profiles and assigning access. The administrator profile is powerful, and only those who require full QuickStart functionality for their job should have it.

To see the list of permission sets included in the administrator access profile, go to the Set up QuickStart access page and select Show only included.

Note:

The administrator profile must be assigned to at least one person in your company.

Full business access profile

The full business access profile permits access to business-related information but not configuration tasks. A person with this profile can perform business-related tasks but can’t change account setup or create people profiles.

Full business access is a powerful profile and should be assigned only to those who need almost unlimited access to QuickStart.

To see the list of permission sets included in the full business access profile, go to the Set up QuickStart access page and select Show only included.

Accountant access profile

The accountant profile permits users access to financial and accounting information and tasks, including setting up charts of accounts and accounting periods. A person with the accountant profile can also manage receivables (such as invoices, payments, and refunds), payables (including vendor bills and payments), tax information, inventory, customer and bank information, and other financial information.

To see the list of permission sets included in the accountant access profile, go to the Set up QuickStart access page and select Show only included.

Sales rep access profile

The sales rep profile permits access to sales and support information such as sales orders, sales reports, and returns. A person with the sales rep profile can also manage customer and contact information and view related information, such as tax setup records, product or service items, and information related to receivables. They will have no access to company accounts or financial information and no access to information about other employees.

To see the list of permission sets included in the sales rep access profile, go to the Set up QuickStart access page and select Show only included.

Operations access profile

The operations access profile is intended for users who perform operational work without administrator access. The exact pages and actions available are determined by the permission sets included in the profile.

To review those permission sets, open the access setup for an internal user, select Operations, and select Show only included.
