Get started with accounting preferences
Use Menu > Accounting > Settings > Accounting preferences to configure default posting accounts, automatic creation of future accounting periods, and the account used for SaaS metrics. These account-level values supply defaults to supported transactions and processes, subject to the access profile and company-preference permissions of the user changing them.
Select Menu, then select Accounting > Settings. On the Accounting card, select Accounting preferences.
The page contains the following categories:
- Default accounts controls accounts used for transaction posting or record creation unless another account is selected.
- Accounting period preferences controls automatically generated future fiscal years and year-end adjustment periods.
- SaaS metrics preferences controls the account used to calculate customer acquisition cost for SaaS reporting.
The ability to view or change these preferences depends on your access profile and company preference permissions.
