Applying Discounts to the Payments of Sales for Brazil

In Brazil, you can grant a discount when you receive the payment of a sale. The discounts on the payment of sales do not affect the taxes applied to the transaction nor the electronic invoice certified from it. This type of discount is categorized as a financial expense.

With Brazil Localization, you can apply discounts to the payments of multiple invoices in NetSuite. The application of discounts results in sales discount transactions.

To apply discounts to the payment of sales for Brazil:

Go to Transactions > Sales > Sales Discount > New.
In the Subsidiary field, select the subsidiary involved in the transactions for which you want to grant discounts.
(Optional) In the Customer field, enter the first 3 characters of the customer's name and select the customer.

NetSuite displays up to 100 results based on your search.
In the Period field, select the start and end date of the transactions to determine the period for the search.
Click Search.

NetSuite lists the transactions and installments that match the search criteria.
Check the box next to each transaction or installment to apply a discount to it.

Tip:
To select all the transactions and installments listed, check the box on the table header.
In the Discount column, enter the amount of discount you want to grant upon the payment of the transaction or installment.

Repeat this step for every installment to which you want to apply a discount.
Click Apply Discounts.

NetSuite creates sales discount transactions for the installments you selected. When the creation is complete, NetSuite sends you an email notification.
(Optional) To view the sales discount transactions, go to Transactions > Sales > Sales Discount.
