Manufacturing Mobile Component Backflush

NetSuite enables you to designate a subset of Bill of Material (BOM) components to be backflushed when production is reported. Only items set as backflush in a work order are backflushed during production reporting.

Backflush enables you to issue components to work orders and complete the assembly at one time. For example, if you have 10 components, you can designate each component to be backflushed.

If you designate a component to be backflushed, you cannot report or scan the component manually. When production is reported, those components are automatically issued.

To backflush all components

  1. In the Work Order page, click the Manufacturing Mobile subtab.

  2. Check the Backflush All Components box.

All components will be backflushed no matter what their component level setting.

As of the 2024.1 release, you need to check the item Backflush box. If not, then non-inventory, service, charge items, and work orders will not be processed into NetSuite.

  3. Click Save.

After production is reported:

Bill of Materials Revision

All component backflush setup is done at the BOM level. After the work order is created, the backflush option is available and editable on the work order.

  • You can set backflush for non inventory item types. This means that non-inventory components designated to be backflushed are automatically backflushed during production.

  • NetSuite also supports Advanced BOM and Legacy BOM.

To backflush a Bill of Revision component:

  1. Go to Lists > Supply Chain > Bills of Materials.

  2. Beside the BOM you want to view, click View.

  3. In the Revisions subtab, beside the revision you want to review, click Edit.

  4. To backflush this component, in the Components subtab, check the MM Backflush box.

  5. To set an item that is at the BOM level to be backflushed automatically when it goes to production, check Auto–Issue box.

  6. Click Save.

Manufacturing Mobile Backflush Work Order

As of NetSuite 2024.1, the new MM Auto-Issue column is available in Manufacturing Mobile work orders.

After the BOM is set, and a work order is created, the auto issue details are added to the work order from the BOM.

  • The MM Auto-Issue field is editable.

  • Only components set as backflush are shown in the MMobile scanner and are available for production.
