Deploy Your Domain

Important:

For secure domains, be aware that deployment includes both setting up CNAME records for DNS verification and website hosting with your domain provider. See Point Your Domain Name at Your Domain (DNS Settings) for information about setting up CNAME records with your domain provider and Set Up DNS Verification for information about DNS verification.

All domain types used in NetSuite must be secured. See Secure Your Domain.

To deploy your domain:

  1. If you haven't already, go to your domain provider's website to set up CNAME records for hosting and DNS verification. For more information, see Point Your Domain Name at Your Domain (DNS Settings).

    Important:

Your domain name should always point to a CNAME record, and you need to keep these records set up correctly at all times to avoid SSL or security issues.

    Note:

For information about setting up DNS verification records, see Set Up DNS Verification Records.

  2. After you've finished DNS configuration with your domain provider, go back to the Domain record in NetSuite and click Save.

If you previously saved the Domain record, go to Commerce > Hosting > Domains > and click Edit next to your domain name, then click Save to redeploy.

Most deployments go live in about 90 minutes, but in rare cases, it can take up to six hours.

You can track progress with the Deployment Status field, which updates automatically as deployment and DNS propagation proceed. To view deployment status, go to Commerce > Hosting > Domains > and click View next to your domain name.

See Deployment Status for information about each of the possible deployment statuses.

    Note:

You can't make changes to the domain settings until the deployment status is Live.

After you set up your domain name in NetSuite and configure DNS with your provider, your domain starts redirecting to your website. How long it takes for your web store to go live depends on your provider, but it usually happens within 2 to 48 hours after setup.
